Hello,
Been a while since I
have written for the newsletter. Have no good excuse other than I’m not a
writer.
I’m sitting here reading
Romans 2, about judging others, thinking I need to work on that one. Basically
I’m going to be judged by God on how I judge others, not good.
Reading in Romans 2:7
this part hits me. “To those who by persistence in doing good week glory, honor
and immortality, he will give eternal life.
First I think oh I’m
good in that area. Then I think a little deeper maybe not so good. Am I really
persistent, not always? I think, ‘we just did church,’ ‘I always go where we
need to’, for ministry. But there’s more, I could be more persistent with the
newsletter. I could put more effort in doing the things I’m not comfortable
doing. No that it’s my comfort zone is doing church, I always have to make
myself do that.
I’m not saying you have
to work your way to heaven, you don’t. God puts on your heart what he
wants you to do. We have a choice whether we do it.
A verse in Revelation
always comes to mind. That, God would rather us be hot or cold than to be luke
warm. If we are luke warm, He is going to spit us out. I don’t want to be spit
out by Jesus. He said to my heart write so I’m writing.
Romans 2:8-9
But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil,
there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every
human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
I saw some of this at
the Spring Opener. People drinking doing things God doesn’t want us to do. I see
the wrath and anger and the distress come from it. I had all that in my life
before I let Jesus in my life. The fighting, hurting other people wanting to
hurt others, the emptiness, the distress in my life.
The Bible is true if you
life in this life you know what I mean. There is a way out and you know which
way that is in your heart, JESUS!
Romans 2:10-11
but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good; first for the Jew,
then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism.
Praise my God, Father of
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God bless, Pastor Norman.
