 Vision and Purpose Statement

What do you mean Independent?

We have been asked by Club members "Why do you call yourselves Independent when you are a group"?

Well the answer is, that is what Ernie was guided to, for a name, by God.

We know "Independents" or "Slick Backs" are people with no affiliation in the biker world, and we respect that. But the "Independent" in our name refers to the fact that each member is "Independent" in what Christian Church he attends (as long as it is biblically sound), how he Ministers, the group he Ministers to and we believe each Pastor answers to God, not the group (except where the Bible specifies otherwise).

There are so many events out there each Pastor is "Independent" in his decision as which function he should attend, where as in some circles events are mandatory.

We hope that helps explain our position on "Independent" as it pertains to ICBOA. We mean no disrespect to the use of the term. Clubs in our area were consulted prior to the adaptation of our name and our patch.

As always our main intent is respect.
